New York University Abu Dhabi Joins Kipu Quantum’s PLANQK Platform to Accelerate Quantum Research

Dubai, UAE – In a groundbreaking step toward advancing quantum computing research, New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), through its Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS), has become the first institution in the Middle East to integrate PLANQK, the industry-leading quantum computing platform developed by Kipu Quantum. This milestone, formalized during the Quantum Innovation Summit 2025, positions the UAE at the forefront of global quantum research and innovation.

The collaboration is made possible through the QInnovision Consortium, an initiative spearheaded by Vernewell Group, which brings together academic, industry, and governmental stakeholders to accelerate quantum adoption. As a founding member of QInnovision, CQTS is driving quantum advancements that will strengthen the UAE’s role as a global quantum hub.

Unlocking New Frontiers in Quantum Computing

With over 600 users from nearly 200 organizations worldwide, PLANQK is designed to bridge the gap between quantum research and real-world applications. By joining Kipu’s Quantum Pioneer Program, NYUAD researchers will now have access to cutting-edge tools that enable them to:

  • Test quantum algorithms on both classical and quantum hardware from multiple providers
  • Seamlessly integrate quantum computing solutions into existing infrastructures
  • Benchmark and refine algorithms against the latest quantum research
  • Collaborate globally by sharing quantum research, hardware tokens, and execution environments

This partnership enhances NYUAD’s ability to conduct groundbreaking research and brings quantum computing within reach for more industries and academic institutions in the region.

A Strategic Step in the UAE’s Quantum Vision

As the UAE accelerates its transformation into a global leader in quantum technology, NYUAD’s adoption of PLANQK aligns with the nation’s vision to drive innovation and deepen sovereign quantum capabilities. The QInnovision Consortium has been at the heart of this mission, fostering strategic collaborations between academia, industry, and policymakers to fast-track quantum adoption.

Beginning in March 2025, CQTS researchers will leverage PLANQK’s hybrid quantum-classical ecosystem to advance quantum applications in sectors such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, finance, and energy.

Industry & Academic Leaders on the Partnership

David Niehaus, Head of Commercialization at PLANQK, highlighted the platform’s transformative capabilities:

“PLANQK provides seamless access to Kipu’s quantum solutions via a SaaS model, combining classical and quantum computing resources with Quantum DevOps capabilities. It is an ideal tool for projects ranging from quantum research to engineering, benchmarking, and deployment.”

Professor Hisham Sati, Founding Director of CQTS at NYUAD, emphasized the impact on quantum research in the region:

“Integrating PLANQK into our research at CQTS marks a new era for quantum computing in the UAE. This collaboration will empower our researchers with cutting-edge tools, accelerating our ability to explore the frontiers of quantum science and technology. By leveraging PLANQK, we aim to drive impactful contributions to the global quantum ecosystem.”

Enrique Solano, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Kipu Quantum, underscored the importance of expanding academic access to quantum technologies:

“The partnership between NYUAD and PLANQK is a pivotal step in advancing quantum research in the Middle East. The region has demonstrated a strong commitment to quantum innovation, and we look forward to welcoming more universities into our Quantum Pioneer Program, ensuring seamless access to quantum computing solutions through our SaaS model.”

Quantum Innovation Summit: A Catalyst for Global Quantum Progress

The Quantum Innovation Summit 2025, organized by Vernewell Group under the leadership of Malak Trabelsi Loeb, served as the ideal platform to formalize this collaboration. The summit, recognized as a definitive gathering of global quantum leaders, explores the transformative role of quantum technologies across critical sectors.

This partnership between NYUAD, Kipu Quantum, and QInnovision Consortium reflects a broader commitment to fostering research, industry collaboration, and real-world deployment of quantum computing. By integrating PLANQK, NYUAD solidifies its position as a regional leader in quantum advancements, contributing to the UAE’s broader strategy to shape the future of deep tech.
