Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Following the recent adoption of the “Pact for the Future by global leaders at the United Nations Summit of the Future, a new era of global collaboration and technological advancement is upon us. This pivotal moment marks a significant milestone in our collective journey towards a safer, more peaceful, sustainable, and inclusive world for future generations. However, these ambitions will not be realized without the concerted efforts of various stakeholders. The active engagement of civil society, robust public-private partnerships, and collaboration across all sectors are essential for turning these global visions into tangible outcomes. At Vernewell Group, we are committed to leading this charge by turning advocacy into effective action that catalyzes significant and lasting impact not only within our communities but also on a global scale.

Bridging these global initiatives to practical implementation, the Quantum Innovation Summit serves as a pivotal platform for actualizing these ambitions. We do more than respond to global calls for action; we actively shape the future. With a clear long-term strategy, our mission is to harness the transformative potential of quantum technologies to drive revolutionary changes. Our initiatives aim to empower youth, accelerate quantum technology adoption, redefine industries, advance sustainable development, and foster a more secure, interconnected global landscape.

In this edition, we highlight key advancements in quantum technologies across various sectors, illustrating how these efforts align with the global vision outlined in the Pact for the Future. We also explore how strategic partnerships at the Quantum Innovation Summit 2025 are shaping a more sustainable and secure future.

  1. Leading the Way with Quantum Technologies

Aligned with the Quantum Innovation Summit ‘s goals and the ongoing initiatives at Vernewell Group Inc. , including QInnovision , we focus on driving sustainable progress through the practical adoption of quantum technologies across several critical areas. We aim to build the quantum capabilities and implement quantum applications that are ready today, promoting innovation and industry transformation while addressing global sustainability challenges. The key areas we aim to tackle include:

Climate Action and Environmental Sustainability

Quantum Solutions for Climate Resilience: Leveraging quantum technologies to improve climate modeling and risk assessment, helping industries mitigate the impact of climate change. These applications are set to provide more precise insights for environmental sustainability initiatives.

Clean Energy and Resource Efficiency

  • Enhancing Renewable Energy Systems: Quantum applications in energy grid optimization, storage solutions, and resource distribution are being applied to accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources. It includes improving the efficiency and reliability of solar, wind, and other sustainable energy systems.
  • Quantum-Enhanced Clean Energy Adoption: Quantum algorithms are facilitating smarter energy usage, making renewable energy systems more accessible and cost-effective for industries seeking to reduce carbon emissions and dependency on fossil fuels.

For example, in a pilot project by Iberdrola and Multiverse Computing, quantum algorithms were used to optimize the placement of grid-scale batteries, improving cost efficiency, voltage control, and grid reliability. These advancements in energy storage support the broader shift towards clean energy by ensuring that renewable sources are effectively integrated into the grid.

Water Management and Conservation

Quantum-Optimized Water Systems: Quantum technologies are being utilized in real-time water distribution management, improving desalination processes and water purification. These technologies help industries enhance water usage efficiency and address global water scarcity challenges.

For example, in a project involving Delaware (Belgium), De Watergroep (Belgium), and KWR (The Netherlands), quantum algorithms were used to determine the optimal number and location of sensors in a water distribution network, a problem known for its complexity (NP-hard).

Sensor Placement Quantum Optimization in Water Distribution Networks

Using D-Wave’s quantum solver, what previously would have taken centuries to compute is now achievable within days, significantly improving water efficiency and reducing waste. This advancement in quantum optimization can help water companies worldwide minimize resource loss and enhance infrastructure reliability.
